Shireen Lander
Shireen has worket at DayOne since May 2025. She joined the firm as a paralegal and now works as a lawyer within DayOne’s broad, business-focused practice. She advises clients and represents them in litigation on a wide range of civil law matters.
Shireen has a particular affinity with employment law, with a special interest in matters involving (sexual) misconduct and inappropriate behaviour in the workplace, as well as dismissal law. Her practice also covers contract law and the law of obligations, and the allocation of land by public authorities in light of the "Didam-judgments". Shireen enjoys exploring a wide variety of legal issues and does not limit herself to any single area of law. It is the combination of different areas of law, as well as the variety between advisory work and litigation, that she finds appealing.

How does Shireen works
Shireen studied Law at Leiden University, where she also completed a Master’s degree in Employment Law. During her studies, she gained practical experience as a working student at an employment law firm in Amsterdam and spent two years working as a legal secretary at a law firm in The Hague. She was also actively involved in J.F.V. Grotius, the Faculty of Law’s student association, where she served on the board for one year. During her Master’s degree, she was also active in Sine Labore Nihil, Leiden’s employment law study association, where she chaired the conference committee
